Construction Estimation Platform

Construction estimating work was spread across multiple tools, handoffs and manual steps. Moving a project forward meant coordinating information that lived in different places.

The Estimation Operations Workspace is the primary interface within the platform. It brings project records, documents, scope intelligence, review and estimating workflow states into one place.

Each project moves through clear workflow states, so it is visible where a project sits — from documents arriving, to scope review, to estimating.

Projects arrive with documents — PDF, JPG and PNG files — that hold much of the information estimating depends on. These documents move through a processing pipeline that includes OCR with Azure Document Intelligence.

The output becomes structured evidence and context, so project information and document evidence can be used by scope intelligence and the estimating stages that follow.

OCR is one step in the pipeline: it reads the documents. It does not create the estimate.

Scope Intelligence interprets the project information and document evidence to prepare a working understanding of the project and its scope.

The proposed scope is presented for review, and users can edit it. Warnings raised by the system are advisory — they support the estimator’s judgement rather than replace it.

Human approval is required. Once a person approves the scope, it becomes the trusted input for the estimating stages downstream.
